～ KONSTRU を利用した Rhinoceros | Grasshopper と SNAP のデータ変換が実現～

建築分野パッケージ・ソフトの開発を行う、株式会社構造システム＜本社：東京都文京区、社長：千葉貴史＞は、建設業界共通の課題である、コンピュテーショナルデザインやBIMの普及に不可欠な、各種設計ソフト間のデータ連携推進を図る一環として、清水建設株式会社＜社長：井上和幸＞主導により「KONSTRU」^※1と「SNAP」^※2のデータ変換機能を2021年に開発しました。

この度、充分なテスト期間を経て、本機能を一般公開します。本機能は、清水建設株式会社、株式会社アルゴリズムデザインラボ＜代表取締役：重村珠穂＞、及び株式会社構造システムが共同開発した、データ変換プラグイン「KONSTRU2SNAP」^※3を使用します。

KONSTRU2SNAP により、Rhinoceros | Grasshopper で作成したモデルデータから SNAP への変換と、SNAP から Rhinoceros | Grasshopper への変換の、双方向の連携ができます。
この連携により清水建設株式会社では、「Shimz DDE」^※4の基盤ソフトであるRhinoceros^※5モデルと SNAP 間のシームレスかつスピーディなデータ連携が実現され、構造品質と設計提案力の一層の向上が図られています。

「KONSTRU2SNAP」一般公開により、建築設計業務のDX推進と業務効率化が更に進むことが期待されています。

Shimz DDE's "KONSTRU2SNAP" will be released to the public.

~ Data conversion between Rhinoceros|Grasshopper and SNAP using KONSTRU has been achieved. ~

As part of an effort to promote data linkage between various design software, which is a common challenge in the construction industry and is indispensable for the spread of computational design and BIM, a function for data conversion between "KONSTRU"^※1 and our "SNAP"^※2 was developed in 2021, under the direction of Shimizu Corporation (President: Kazuyuki Inoue).

After a sufficient testing period, this functionality will be released to the public.
This function uses the data conversion plug-in "KONSTRU2SNAP"^※3, which was jointly developed by Shimizu Corporation, Algorithm Design Lab. (President: Tamaho Shigemura), and Kozo System, Inc. (President: Takashi Chiba) and KONSTRU.

KONSTRU2SNAP enables linkage in two directions, converting from model data created in Rhinoceros|Grasshopper to SNAP and from SNAP to Rhinoceros|Grasshopper.
This linkage enables Shimizu Corporation to achieve seamless and speedy data linkage between SNAP and "Rhinoceros"^※5 models, which is the base software of "Shimiz DDE"^※4, further improving structural quality and design proposal capabilities.

Public opening of "KONSTRU2SNAP" is expected to further promote DX and improve the efficiency of architectural design work. Furthermore,Thornton Tomasetti and KONSTRU have provided the following comments on the public release of KONSTRU2SNAP.
